Cars are an essential part of our everyday lives. As technology has advanced so have the functionalities of cars. In the U.S. alone, 91.6% of households own at least one vehicle and more are being made with the ability to connect to your phone, text, map a route, and even play games like today’s smartphones.
What is Berla iVe?
Berla iVe toolkit allows investigators to collect data from car devices from car manufacturers such as Audi, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, FIAT, Ford, Jeep, Mercedes, Maserati, Seat, Skoda, Toyota, and Volkswagen.
These cars typically have consoles that run on Microsoft Sync™, MyFord Touch™, OnStar™, Uconnect™, ConnectedDrive™, Entune™, and other highly used car systems.
Collect data with Berla iVe backups in Oxygen Forensic® Detective
Starting with Oxygen Forensic® Detective v.15.2, all of this data can be imported into Oxygen Forensic® Detective and analyzed there as well.
Here’s how this can be done: :
First, locate “Berla iVe backup” in the “Import” section of Oxygen Forensic® Detective’s home screen.
In the opened window, select a file to be imported and click “Open”.
The import wizard will open.
Investigators can fine-tune the importing process using options on the left sidebar or by clicking “Import” without changing anything.
As soon as the import is complete, all data will be available for analysis in Oxygen Forensic® Detective.
Evidence set may include:
- Connected devices
- Contacts
- Calls
- Search history
- Location history
- Speed info
- Media files
